Plastic Media Blasting is a relatively new process developed to remove paint, adhesives
and other organic coatings from a wide range of materials including aluminums, steels
and composites. The process has also been used for cleaning circuit boards,
de-flashing plastic molded parts, and cleaning aluminum castings. The process has
been approved by the U.S. military and commercial aircraft manufactures to remove
paint from fatigue sensitive components such as aircraft.
Plastic media blasting was designed to provide a less aggressive dry stripping process
and eliminate the use of dangerous chemical strippers. Approved plastic media is
environmentally friendly and reusable. It is praised for reducing air pollution and toxic
waste and improving worker safety.
